Application Tapes

What is Application Tape?

Application tape is a clear or paper-based tape with a low to medium tack adhesive. It is pressed over cut vinyl graphics or printed films while they are still on the release liner. The tape allows the full design – including individual letters or shapes – to be lifted in one go, keeping everything in its intended layout. The tape is then used to apply the graphic to its final surface, after which the tape is peeled away. App tapes are used in signmaking, vehicle livery, retail displays, wall art, and general vinyl application. They are available in various tack levels and backing types to suit different materials, sizes, and application methods.

Ritrama P 100 Paper Application Tape has a lower tack level, making it ideal for transferring larger vinyl graphics, paint masking films, or wall decals. The reduced tack allows for easier positioning on delicate surfaces and smoother removal once the vinyl is applied.

For more detailed or complex transfers, such as multi-colour decals or layered designs, Politape PT 160 Clear Tape is a useful option. Its clear construction allows for precise placement, particularly when layering graphics or aligning elements on a background.
